Stoneware clay, slip and underglaze, glaze, overglaze and walnut wood. 5.5” x 28” x 5.5” inches, 10.5 lbs. (w/o packaging). 2020-21. Handbuilt stoneware textured slab form with surface underglaze and slip, and glazed and overglazed spheres. Fired to cone 10 and then a walnut base was attached.
Clay artist and educator at Bellevue College, now retired from teaching, and combine clay with wood forms. This is one of the last pieces in my POST APOCALYPTIC series and most of the work has been done in high fired stoneware clay, combined with slips, underglases, glazes, and overglazes and nearly all have attached wood bases.
