About our Juror:
David Lynx is Executive Director of Kirkland Arts Center. A Puget Sound native, he holds degrees from the University of Washington and the University of Oklahoma in Museum Studies. He has led the Sheehan Gallery at Whitman College, served as Associate Director of the Yakima Valley Museum, and directed the Larson Gallery at Yakima Valley College. For more than twenty-five years he taught art history and wrote the Yakima Herald-Republic arts column.
Eligibility & Submission Requirements
Open to current NWDC members.
Media: Clay and Wood.
Submit up to three original works completed after January 1, 2021.
Work must be exhibition-ready.
Accepted work must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.
Work accepted for exhibition may not be substituted.
Sales & Delivery
Artwork should be available for sale.
Artists will provide title, medium, dimensions, and retail price one month prior to the exhibition.
Artwork will be delivered by scheduled appointment.
All accepted artists must complete the Kirkland Arts Center Loan Agreement.
Insurance & Shipping
Art dropoff will be Tues-Fri 11-4 and Sat 11-2, September 22. For other arrangements, artists must contact Jeremy Hurd-McKenney at jhurd@kirklandartscenter.org to make an appointment for drop-off.
Kirkland Arts Center insures artwork while it is in the gallery under its fine arts insurance policy.
Artists are responsible for transportation to and from the gallery.
Shipped work must include prepaid return shipping instructions.
Image Specifications
Enter the information and upload images of a single artwork in each section.
Images should be Jpg format, 72 DPI, at least 2,000 pixels on the shortest side, and cannot exceed 5MB.
Please use this naming convention for the uploaded Images:
Lastname_Firstname_Title_1 (Full Image) such as Smith_Joe_Ice Star_1
Lastname_Firstname_Title_2 (Alternate or Detailed image) such as Smith_Joe_Ice Star_2
For each artwork submitted:
One full-view image
One detail image (optional but encouraged)
JPEG format
Maximum file size: 5 MB
Publicity
By submitting work, artists grant NWDC and Kirkland Arts Center permission to reproduce submitted images for exhibition publicity, educational materials, social media, and promotional purposes.
