"Blue Bird Nest" by Rebecca Stansbury
Porcelain, stains and oxides. 12" x 4.5" x 3", 2 lb 11 oz. 2024.
“Ceramic Wall Art of bird nests. This ceramic process looks like real tree bark. It is wired for easy hanging.”
Having a childhood rich with storytellers paved the way for my developing narrative and figurative pieces. My goal is to make artworks that keep adding to their stories over time. The characters I invent are often flawed, quirky or represent my thoughts about the various ways individuals cope in social settings.
My work is a mix of narrative figures sculptures, wall art and functional ware. I work with porcelain and stoneware.
