"Owl in Blue Ash" by Rebecca Stansbury
Stoneware, glazes. 14.5" x 7" x 5", 5 lbs. 2024.
“Ceramic Sculpture of an Owl. Made with stoneware and glazes, including ash glazes.”
Having a childhood rich with storytellers paved the way for my developing narrative and figurative pieces. My goal is to make artworks that keep adding to their stories over time. The characters I invent are often flawed, quirky or represent my thoughts about the various ways individuals cope in social settings.
My work is a mix of narrative figures sculptures, wall art and functional ware. I work with porcelain and stoneware.
