Seattle Restored

Seattle Restored

NWDC is excited to present three exhibitions with Seattle Restored. Seattle Restored calls our local artists and entrepreneurs to reinvigorate our city by activating empty storefronts. These projects benefit Seattle neighborhoods by creating vibrant and engaging streetscapes, while encouraging the public to support local businesses and artists – particularly historically underrepresented groups.

The ceramics installation (July), curated by NWDC member Nancy Loorem Adams, brings together Seattle ceramic artists whose work spans functional ware, sculptural form, and conceptual expression. Adams has selected pieces that reflect the region’s strong clay tradition, while also showcasing the diversity of approaches emerging from contemporary practice. These works reveal clay’s ability to hold history, texture, and innovation simultaneously. Artists include, Nancy Loorem Adams, Jan Hoy, Cara Jung, Larry Havorsen, Inge Roberts, and Brian O,Neill

In the fiber installation (September), curator June Sekiguchi explores the expressive potential of textiles.

Timed to coincide with REFRACT: The Seattle Glass Experience (October), the glass installation brings together work that honors Seattle’s internationally recognized glass movement, curated by Dick Weiss.
