NWDC is excited to present three exhibitions with SHUNPIKE. SHUNPIKE calls our local artists and entrepreneurs to reinvigorate our city by activating empty storefronts. These projects benefit Seattle neighborhoods by creating vibrant and engaging streetscapes, while encouraging the public to support local businesses and artists – particularly historically underrepresented groups.

July 17 — September 14, 2025
The ceramics installation, curated by NWDC member Nancy Loorem Adams, brings together Seattle ceramic artists whose work spans functional ware, sculptural form, and conceptual expression. Adams has selected pieces that reflect the region’s strong clay tradition, while also showcasing the diversity of approaches emerging from contemporary practice. These works reveal clay’s ability to hold history, texture, and innovation simultaneously. Artists include, Nancy Loorem Adams, Jan Hoy, Cara Jung, Larry Havorsen, Inge Roberts, and Brian O,Neill.

September 14 — October 14, 2025
Artists include: Jill Nordfors, Terri Shin, Elin Noble, and Barbara de Pirro.
In the fiber installation, curator June Sekiguchi explores the expressive potential of textiles.

Glass, curated by Dick Weiss
October 14 — Jan 15, 2025
Artists include: John de Wit, Crista Van Slyck Matteson, Kait Rhoads.
Timed to coincide with REFRACT: The Seattle Glass Experience, the glass installation brings together work that honors Seattle’s internationally recognized glass movement, curated by Dick Weiss.
